Davies- I pretty much approach the head by blocking out the placement of the cranium of the skull with a simple sphere. Than I find the perspective of the eyes and the alignment of the nose and mouth by drawing the facial T. After that I just work from general, big shapes to more specific details later.
Wow, there's some beautiful stuff in here . . . I especially like the one second from the top. The circular marks really compliment the stretch of the form
